Our history
For over 65 years in the field, we have been designing and distributing solutions for agriculture and green space maintenance, with a history built on product evolution, international presence and strategic partnerships.
1958 - The origins
It all began in Sossano with “Agricola Sossanese”: the Barbieri brothers focused on a simple yet ambitious idea — bringing innovation and reliability to everyday work in the field.
1960 - From trade to design
The company became Barbieri and took a decisive step forward: the production of its first single-wheel walking tractor began. This marked the beginning of an industrial culture built on field testing, robustness and attention to those who use the machine every day.
1970s–1980s - Growth and expansion into foreign markets
As the range expanded, Barbieri began looking beyond Italy and started building an international presence. This was a phase of industrial development and production consolidation, allowing the company to grow in both volumes and expertise.
1975 - The turning point of compact tractors
Compact tractors with 2 and 4-wheel drive were introduced: a choice that marked an important evolution and expanded the company’s range of applications into new working contexts.
Anni 90s - Versatility as a key concept
With the introduction of Multi Purpose Tractors, Barbieri focused on compact, configurable machines designed to work with different implements and adapt to increasingly specific needs.
2010 - SEP acquisition
The acquisition of SEP represented a strategic step: optimizing production and integrating the sales network to further strengthen the company’s presence in the market.
2012 - Exclusive ISEKI distribution in Italy
Barbieri became the exclusive distributor in Italy for ISEKI, a multinational group specializing in tractors and lawn mowers: a partnership that expanded the offer and consolidated the Group’s role in the sector.
2018 - The beginning of remote-controlled robot production
Barbieri Group began producing remote-controlled robots for grass mowing, opening a new line dedicated to Hybrid products with electric traction.
Today
Today we continue to develop solutions for agriculture and green space maintenance, with a solid production and organizational structure and an approach that combines experience, innovation and local support.
